Flummoxified!

I went with Daniel to get his roots colored. I could not resist taking a picture! :) (yes, just proof once again that blogging is addicting! :) ) Anyway before I was able to write anything on the post, I was talking to my mom on the phone, and she saw this picture and said, "Lisa! Your sweetheart looks flummoxed!" Daniel happened to be with me so I told him what she said. His response? "Tell her I am flummoxified!" So if you have never seen someone that was flummoxified, here is your chance!

Oh and the word Flummoxified? Go ahead and try to look it up, you will be flummoxed as you will not be able to find it in any dictionary!

Oquirrh Temple

Daniel and I took the opportunity to get a tour of the Oquirrh Temple today! What a neat experience Robert provided for us! :) If you look close, you can see that Robert provided me with a pink hard hat! :) It was neat to see the temple in a way that not many people get to see it. We look forward to going to see the open house when the temple is finished! Thank you Robert for being such a great brother!

Happy Birthday Aunt Crisinda!

I want to wish my big sister a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So I had to jump on the band wagon and steal this picture of our family that Robert posted on the family blog! What memories this picture holds! I looked up to Christina more than she will ever really understand. One of my favorite memories of her was when I was 5 and she was 10. She was twice my age, and if she knelt down we were the same height! I thought that was the coolest thing!

I don't remember what birthday it was, but I remember one of her birthday's Robert and I were hanging a banner the the entry way that we had all made for her and Christina came in and she had been crying. Now in our house, birthday's are the best day of the year so we were really concerned that she was crying. I even remember Robert picking her up and jumping up and down to try to make her laugh. We felt so helpless wanting so much for her to be happy on her day! I don't know why that has stuck with me for so long, I think it is because Christina was the one that always made sure we were happy, everyday... not just on our birthdays!

We are all lucky to have a big sister like you! We hope you had a WONDERFUL birthday!!!!!

Healing Field II

We made some fun changes to the healing field post's pictures. (I say "we" very loosely because it was Daniel that made the changes..lol) So please check it out again. If you hold your mouse over the image, you will see the original photograph! How much fun is that? :) Just wanted to share this new and fun change and since it is an older post I was afraid it would be missed!

Ally is 2!!!!

My youngest niece, Allyson Smith is two today! :) I was so fortunate to go see her just a couple of hours after she was born, and for the first several months of her life I got to hold her on almost a daily basis! I feel such a connection to her sweet little spirit!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLYSON!!!!!

The Red Hot Llamas...

Okay, okay, so they are actually the Fire Devils, but Harrison wanted them to be called the Red Hot Llamas! They played the Hillbillies (yeah I know). They did not win, but man Harrison rocked! :) He blocked a ton of goals while he was goalie. It is so much fun to watch him play because although he is the best player on his team, he does not hesitate to pass the ball to his team mates. We are so proud of him!!

He really is perfect!

I had the opportunity to help my cousin Christopher move today. I was happy to help. Although I was really missing Daniel by the time I got home, and he was going to be working late tonight. Well, he left a tape player on my bed with a note that said "Play Me" This is the song that played. Man, I love this guy! This song is PERFECT, just like him! :)

Tradition

It seems that every child wants their parent(s) to bring something back to them when they go out of town. Just to know that they weren't forgotten.

As I was growing up, my parents did not go out of town a lot but when they did I always looked forward to receiving something when they got back. When my parents did go out of town, it was usually for a business trip for my dad, so they did not generally bring us souvenirs. I am not sure how the tradition with my mother started, but she started bringing me the shampoo and soaps from the hotels that she stayed at. I think I was bummed that she did not bring me something at one point and I told her that it could be as simple as the soap from her hotel room, that it did not have to cost any money, I just wanted to know she was thinking of me. (correct me mom if I am wrong... :) )

It meant SO much to me growing up, just knowing that she thought of me on the trip and brought me something as simple as soap to remind me that she did think about me. It is a tradition that I hope never dies. :) My parents went to Wyoming not too long ago, and my mom did not forget our tradition! (In fact, I don't think she has EVER forgotten!)

Charlene has always had such a tender spirit and I realized how much the "soap" tradition meant to me when I went to Bear Lake. While I was there I talked with Charlene on the phone and she asked me in such a sweet way if I would bring her a rock. (I am guessing that just like me when I was little, she did not want to cost her mom any money) I said that I would and she asked me if I would please bring her two rocks. :)

When Daniel and I went and took pictures of the route we ran, I picked two rocks to bring back to her. She was so happy that I remembered her on my trip and was able to bring her back something. When Daniel took me out in the canoe on our fishing trip last week, we went over a shallow part of the lake. He reached over and pulled out two rocks from the bottom of the lake to give to Charlene (pictured below). Charlene was so happy that we remembered her on our trip! Although the tradition is slightly different, it will be fun to pass this tradition that meant so much to me growing up to my daughter whom I love very much!

It looks like hail out there!

Happy Labor Day!

Today I have been thinking about my Dad a lot. First of all because it is Labor Day and my Dad takes that most literally and labors on Labor Day, and most other holidays for that matter! Then it started to hail really hard and I thought about my Dad looking outside and saying, "Looks like hail out there!" I think it was a way to get him to take a day off of work. I am sure he will find a way to work today anyway! Whether it is indoors or out! :) We love you Dad! We hope everyone is enjoying their day off of school and work!
